The Challenge
PortoCanna’s main challenge was the complexity of integrating three sectors with profoundly different realities and demands into a single management and control platform. The operation required coordinating agricultural activity, the regulatory rigor of the pharmaceutical industry and the agility required by international trade, including continuous import and export flows.
In addition to this operational reality, the company needed rigorous, precise stock control, essential for cost management and financial sustainability. The robustness of the solution also ensures remarkable scalability: PortoCanna started its export activity with volumes of between 100 and 150 kilograms per month and is now ready to handle a production ten times larger on the same platform.
One of the best indicators of this success is the fact that the medicines produced and supplied to Portuguese pharmacies are managed with high levels of traceability, control and accuracy through Sage X3.
