The Challenge
The pandemic crisis brought unprecedented challenges, interrupting the sector’s growth and seriously affecting vital distribution channels such as restaurants and tourism. Operationally, while the administrative area adapted easily to remote work, production faced heavy constraints, since this activity requires physical presence.
Another critical challenge was international distribution. With most sales dependent on exports, the company had to deal with the varying rules of each country and with the logistics limitations imposed by the pandemic. As Carlos Flores, managing partner, stressed: “We can’t send bottles of wine to our customers by email,” which called for a constant search for greater process effectiveness.
