The Client
PRF Gas Solutions is a Portuguese company with more than 34 years of activity, specializing in technology, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of infrastructure for the gas and energy sector.
PRF develops and executes projects across the entire value chain, including distribution networks, regulation stations, LNG, CNG and hydrogen refueling stations, bunkering systems, regasification units and solutions for the decarbonization of energy grids.
With a strong international presence, PRF operates in several European and non-European markets, working with public and private entities on technically demanding projects with high requirements for safety, reliability and compliance.
The Project
Implementation of the ISO 27001 Standard – Information Security Management System, with the aim of growing sustainably, strengthening competitive advantages and reducing costs in the medium to long term.
The project was divided into 3 essential stages:
- Phase 1 – Diagnosis – Analysis of PRF as an organization, its culture, what it considers important, how it is organized and the risks to information security;
- Phase 2 – Implementation – Discussion, construction and implementation of processes, procedures and instructions to support the standardization of rules and good practices;
- Phase 3 – Training – Knowledge transfer.

The Challenge
Before implementing ISO 27001, PRF’s main challenge was to structure information security management in a systematic, cross-cutting way in an organization with high technical complexity, multiple simultaneous projects and a strong international component.
It was essential to ensure not only compliance with the standard, but also that the processes were clear, workable and integrated into the company’s daily operations, ensuring the protection of critical information, compliance with contractual requirements and the trust of customers and partners.
